1 of 5 2010 BEST Photographer - Top 5

Ken Blaze Photography Inc.

I strive to shoot photographs with meaning. Photos of true moments. Photojournalism is all about getting that perfect moment, showing the emotion. Making photos that are true. My goal when shooting weddings is to document your day in as unobtrusive a way as possible while catching those memorable moments. Unposed. Unscripted. Real.
My main focus is editorial photography and you can see my portfolio at KEN BLAZE DOT COM. My schooling and experience in documentary photography lends itself well to the art of shooting weddings.

I grew up on the south side of Cleveland in the Parma area. Moved west to Lakewood while I went to St. Ignatius High School in Ohio City, and then I graduated from Kent State University in 1995 with a degree in Photojournalism. I was able to get a staff photographer position with the Willoughby News-Herald in 1996 and that's where I stayed until 2007.

I currently live on Cleveland's west side neighborhood with my wife Kristen, our kids Luca and Rio and our dogs Ameka, Walter. I left my position at the News-Herald to concentrate my career as a freelancer and to stay at home during the week with Luca. That's when I began to shoot weddings.I graduated from Kent State University in 1995 with a degree in Photojournalism. I never thought in a million years I'd be able to support myself by taking pictures. It's pretty freekin great. Before that I went to St. Ignatius High School in Cleveland, Ohio. and spent most of my time growing up in Parma and Lakewood, Ohio.

Since 1995, I have covered the Cleveland Browns, Cleveland Indians, Cleveland Cavaliers, Cleveland Barons, Cleveland Crunch/Force, The NCAA tournament, PGA Golf, The Grand Prix of Cleveland, many minor league baseball teams including the Columbus Clippers, Dayton Dragons, Lake County Captains, and I have covered one World Series and numerous NFL playoff games. I have covered Spencer Tunick shooting in Cleveland, numerous High School state sports tournaments, President Bush, the Gravity Games, the Special Olympics, shot for ESPN and been to tons of other stuff.
